1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Restomod

Chicago is getting ready for Mecum auto auctions and I am ready to see some restomods hit the block.

Just ran across this 1970 Chevelle Restomod that will be crossing the block in Chicago at the upcoming Mecum auction. The exterior stands out with a unique black bumper treatment and a very deep red paint job that carries onto the interior dash. However, what I find even more interesting is the LSX 454 engine matted to the Tremec T-56 transmission. To keep it all stable suspension goodies were added from Classic Performance Products (CPP).

The car was completely restored from the ground up and was finalized this year. I would assume this engine hasn't even been broken in yet. One thing is for certain, this Chevelle will be getting to 0-60 a lot quicker than it did in 1970.

Full Details from the Mecum website:

  • Fuel injected 454/585 HP GM Performance LSX engine
  • Tremec T-56 6-speed transmission
  • Hydraulic clutch
  • March Sport Track serpentine system
  • CPP Stage IV Pro Touring suspension
  • CPP Big Brake 4-wheel disc brakes
  • Vintage Air
  • Dakota Digital VXH gauges
  • Pioneer 6.1 inch touch screen radio with Bluetooth
  • Hooker ceramic coated headers
  • Magnaflow 2.5 inch exhaust
  • Frame-off rotisserie restoration completed in 2014

I am going to be watching this car like a hawk on October 11 in Chicago.

Any guesses on what it will bring? My guess is around $70k.
